Hello FUNhouse Interactive Friends,
My niece Tricia is turning 7 come June 1st. I know it doesn't sound like much of a big deal to folks outside the family here but there's a little something special to this celebration. My niece has LONG hair which has grown down past below her knees. She has ALWAYS had long hair for as long as I can remember. Well it has come time for her to shed some of that long hair and what better way to do that then to donate her beautiful hair to those in need. That's right! Her hair will be made into wigs for children suffering from cancer. She is also looking for sponsorship support in the way of monetary donations in order to give even more to the cause. Her and her brother Spiro (11 years old) came up with the idea. I think it's one of those beautiful things that children come up with us adults can learn a little something from.
Giving to those in need is an important part of life and it's even more precious when it's for causes dealing with children. We have been lucky enough in our family to not have any children that have suffered from this illness and we are grateful for our healthy lives our children do have. Many families (sadly) do experience these hardships and any help to ease their pain, suffering, frustrations and difficult times is something very much needed.
