Hi,

I have been working with tradigitools for some time, and I haven?t had any problem with it, but the tangent buttons in the quick section of the general tab have stopped working. Well, the button on the right side still works, but I get the following message in the command line when I try the remaining tangent buttons:

// Error: Cannot use -time, -index, or -float flags with keyframes selected

I have tried reinstalling tradigitools but the problem is still there. Any ideas?

Thanks Smiley

This is the first time I have heard of this issue.  It;s an entirely new one from my recollection. The ONLY thing that comes off the top of my head is a corrupt Maya file, perhaps.  Is it only an issue with one file or are all scenes affected?

I have tried with a fresh scene with a single sphere and I have the same problem. Well, actually the buttons do work, but only if the range box isn't checked.

I have installed a script, autotangent, form here: http://www.comet-cartoons.com/melscript.php that smooths the selected key tangents but without overshooting (something like that could be a great addition to tradigitools Smiley )... Maybe there is some kind of conflict between tradigitools and this, but I have been using both together for some time with no problem.

Ah, yes!  Autotangent.  I believe there is a slight conflict between the two but we haven't really tested for it.  AND....  We do have a tool that does a similar thing.  The second tab (ADVANCED) has a curve cleaner function that does simple curve editing.  We are working on an even better curve cleaner for future releases.  The current version does the trick but needs to be even more simplified in function and effect.

As for the issues, we'll have a look into it but can't guarantee any outcome, as there could be conflicts with other tools or plug-ins that we are not aware of.  We will do our best to fix these issues as soon as possible.

well, i have removed autotangent, but the problem is still there Huh. I thought it could be that maybe I had messed too much with my current scene, but I had the same issue in a new scene with a simple animated object. Yeah, the curve cleaner function is cool, but it does it for all tangents, there's not an option to do it only on the selected keys. I like to fine tweak the tangents in my animation by hand when I am almost done with my animations... But while I am working on them, it is a pain in the ass to be constantly tweaking all tangents everytime I place a key because all interpolation goes to hell.

Anyway, thanks for your attention... I'm looking forward to the maya 2009 version, I think I'll switch to it as soon as the tradigitools new version is out... it's going to be great to work with layers, I hope I don't have these problems with it Smiley

I am sorry we couldn't help you anymore.  Right now this particular issue is completely foreign to us and no one else has had this issue before.  It could be that your MAYA application has been corrupted as well.  There is no real way of knowing for sure.  We have no known reason and solution to this problem.  Rest assured we haven't given up on helping you with this issue, please know that.  We are a very small outfit and we are in the midst of several projects and other obligations.  We must allocate the appropriate time and focus to each tasks in the best possible order.  If you do manage to find a solution or possible reason PLEASE let us know here.

We totally hear ya on the Curve Cleaner.  That particular issue is one of many we intend on improving in version 2.

Thanks so much for your patience, time, effort and most of all support.

Much appreciated.
